In Short

Are you planning to add someone as a nominee for your State Bank of India (SBI) account? If yes, then you can simply avail this facility online. All the depositors who have an account with SBI can nominate someone for their bank accounts without visiting the branch.

Most banks have the facility to add a nomination to the bank account so that in the case of the depositor's unexpected death, someone can claim the amount. All the accounts opened in an individual capacity (i.e. single/joint accounts as well as accounts of a sole proprietary concern), can avail the facility of adding a nomination, read the note on the bank's website. This facility is not for accounts opened in a representative capacity.
